Jessica Hoffman is a sociologist whose research and teaching interests center on issues of inequality and social justice, asking questions of how social structures, dominant ideologies, and social interactions create and maintain social inequality.

Her NSF-funded research explores disparities in healthcare decision-making among pregnant women across racial and socioeconomic statuses and the medicalization of birth.

Her current research also includes analyses of college student’s perceptions of social justice advocacy.
