Emma Kyes became the third athletic trainer on staff when she joined the Hawks in July 2025. She will help ensure that every student-athlete receives top-level care, in accordance with the code of ethics established by the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA).
She brings a wide range of clinical experience, having spent the past year working with the AHL’s Rochester Americans and WNY’s own NFL team, the Buffalo Bills. Her responsibilities included injury evaluations, development of rehabilitation programs, and assisting with both nutritional and mental health planning. Kyes gained further experiences through clinical hours at UBMD Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, in addition to assignments at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, and with the University of Buffalo's 2023 football program while finishing her master's degree. She also served and supported the Florida State University Medical Response Unit, and the Student Athletic Training Association as an undergraduate student.
Kyes earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Florida State University in 2023 and recently completed her master’s degree in athletic training from the University at Buffalo in May 2025.
