Danny Glover joins the Hilbert College women’s basketball coaching staff, bringing with him over a decade of collegiate coaching, player development, and program-building experience.
Prior to Hilbert, Glover spent nine seasons as the head women’s basketball coach at D’Youville University, where he guided the program to three postseason appearances, including one of the most successful campaigns in school history with an 18-9 record and a trip to the AMCC semifinals. During his tenure, he recruited and developed four 1,000 point scorers, and 10 all-conference selections, including three Newcomer of the Year honorees. His teams also excelled in the classroom, earning the 2021 East Coast Conference Team Excellence Award for posting the highest team GPA. Glover ranks second all-time in program history in coaching wins and played a key role in leading D’Youville’s transition from NCAA Division III to Division II competition. Before his head coaching tenure, he served two seasons as an assistant coach for the D’Youville men’s basketball program.
A Western New York native and former standout guard for D’Youville, Glover ranks among the program’s all-time leaders in three-point shooting, highlighted by a record seven made three-pointers on his senior night against Pitt-Greensburg. He earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Exercise and Sports Studies and Business Management from D’Youville, followed by a master’s degree in Sport Management with a concentration in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration from California University of Pennsylvania.
