Ken Korn enters his second season leading the Women's Bowling program in 2023-34. He was introduced as the third head coach in program history in May 2022.
He guided the Hawks to the first full, complete seasons in program history, going 11-48 overall and 7-13 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action. Hilbert was knotted with La Roche for the final play-off spot but lost the tie breaker and fell to 7th seed, missing the postseason tournament.
Korn has been involved in the bowling industry his entire life, starting as a young bowler, working his way up through youth, high school, and collegiate levels as a coach. Korn belongs to several professional bowling associations and has earned multiple certifications over the years.
He was given the 2023 East Region Pat Patterson Award for bringing the PBA back to Buffalo. Over the years, the PBA has staged events in various centers in the Buffalo area, more recently at AMF Thruway Lanes, which no longer exists. The last time the PBA had been in Buffalo was in the early 1990s. Through Ken's efforts, we brought a PBA Regional, the Greater Buffalo Open, to AMF Airport Lanes each of the past 3 years.
Korn served as D’Youville College’s assistant women’s bowling since the Saints began competition in the 2019-2020 season. Prior to his three year stint helping build a Division II bowling program, Korn helped launch a new bowling program in the Arlington School District (TX) and served as the head coach at Martin High School (Arlington). He started both the boys and girls bowling teams and led them to great success, advancing to the Texas State Finals three years in a row. The girls team set and still holds the Texas state record for highest Baker game (251).
Korn is a USBC certified coach and a USBC and PBA member. He is USBC RVP and Safesport certified and has been a staffer for Brunswick, Turbo and Dexter, in addition to being a member of the GBUSBC Board of Directors, serving on the Youth, Budget and Rules committees.
