When he hired Dennis Sarow in the spring of 2015, head coach John Hall completed his first collegiate softball staff and loaded it with experienced coaches.
Sarow's coaching career began in the early 1990's and spanned two and a half decades before he joined the Hawks department in 2015.
The Tonawanda native began his coaching career in 1992 as an assistant coach at Kenmore West High School and later at The Nichols School in Buffalo until 1996. Sarow returned to Kenmore West as an assistant head coach in 1997 and remained in that capacity the next 18 years.
When not teaching on the diamond, Sarow coordinated and facilitated summer softball travel teams as well as their travel agendas and fundraising events each year. Additionally, he served as a volunteer softball coach for the Empire State Games working with and playing against some of the most talented collegiate softball players in New York State.
Sarow has held administrative positions all along the way. He previously served as the Commissioner of the Niagara Frontier Girls Softball Association (NFGSA) and was the Vice President from 2007-15. He held over-lapping roles as the Secretary for the Niagara Frontier League high school league (2000-15) and was a member of the Section VI softball committee for ten years (2005-15).
