Nicole Mehlman joined Geoff Brunger’s coaching staff in 2013. Her recent collegiate racing experience will benefit the Hawks as they prepare for another exciting season. Mehlman will help guide the harriers with race strategies and race goals while improving proper running form and work-out routines.
Mehlman served as her team’s Run Director in the Ulman Cancer Fund: 4K for Cancer event in the summer of 2013. She ran twelve miles a day for thirty days (June 15 – July 15) while also serving as the team leader creating training plans, making designated running assignments for her teammates along with fundraising over $5,000 and participating in community service events to help cancer patients. The runners started in San Francisco, CA and traveled across the country ending in Baltimore, MD.
The North Tonawanda native graduated with a bachelor of arts in communication studies (2013) from Niagara University. She was a four-year member of the Division I Purple Eagles cross country team and served as a team captain.
She is a copy writer for Cypress North Marketing (Buffalo) and a sales associate at Runner’s Roost in Orchard Park when she isn’t training and coaching.
