Terry Bitka was added to Ted Egger’s football staff in April 2023, and he will serve as the Offensive Line Coach and Recruiting Assistant.
Coach Bitka recently retired after a coaching career that spanned 36 years at cross town Buffalo State University. During his time with the Bengals, he served in various capacities, including Offensive Line Coach, Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Line Coach, Defensive Coordinator, Associate Head Coach, and was also responsible for the strength and conditioning program for football for several years.
As a player at Cortland, he was a team captain and received the "Best Offensive Lineman" award twice. He was selected to the ECAC All-Star team as a senior and later served as a volunteer coach.
Terry earned a bachelor’s degree in geography from Cortland in 1986 and a master’s degree in student personnel administration from Buffalo State in 1991.
He and his wife Heather have three children; Emily is an Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach at SUNY Cortland, Brandon is a former Men's Lacrosse Captain and 2022 graduate of Hilbert College that is also a Graduate Assistant at Hilbert working with Athletic Facilities and is also an Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach for the Hawks. Ryan is entering his third year as a starting offensive lineman with the SUNY Cortland football program.
