POTSDAM, N.Y. - Hilbert College Women's Volleyball delivered a dominant performance on Friday, sweeping SUNY Potsdam twice in back-to-back matches. The Hawks controlled both contests with aggressive serving, balanced offense, and relentless defense as they improved to 5-6 with a pair of three-set sweeps over the Bears in Maxcy Fieldhouse.
Hilbert improves to
5–6 with two straight-set wins (3–0, 3–0) on day one of the North Country Classic.
The Hawks never allowed more than 22 points in a set as
McKenna Rice led the way today with 12 kills, four service aces and 12 digs over two matches while
Molly McKinnon added 10 kills and 12 digs in one match.
Mackenzie Mitchell saw plenty of court time and dished 27 assists today.

Hilbert came out strong in the opening match, outlasting the Bears in a close first set before gaining control in sets two and three. The Hawks used tough serving and scrappy defense to wear down the Potsdam attack, racking up 9 service aces and 67 digs as a team.

Hilbert posted a balanced offensive effort, with three players finishing with five or more kills. The Hawks out-aced SUNY Potsdam 9–3 and edged them in total points, 45–39.
Match two: Set Scores: 25–22, 25–22, 25–22
The Hawks carried their momentum into the evening matchup, controlling the pace from the service line and finishing with a season-high 12 aces. Hilbert also improved its offensive efficiency, hitting .150 as a team and holding the Bears to just .021.

Hilbert outscored SUNY Potsdam 51–31 in total points and held the Bears to under 10 kills in every set.
The Hawks continue their Northern New York action with another non-conference match up against SUNY Canton (11 am) and SUNY Cobleskill (1 pm) tomorrow in Roos Arena on the campus of SUNY Canton.
