CRESSON, Pa. – In the program's first-ever AMCC semifinal appearance, Hilbert Women's Volleyball left everything on the court, pushing No. 1 seed Mount Aloysius to a five-set battle before ultimately falling 3–2 on Saturday afternoon (23-25, 25-14, 21-25, 25-20, 15-11).
The Hawks (20–11) opened the day with poise, taking the first set behind steady serving and timely offense. After Mount Aloysius responded with a dominant second frame, Hilbert regained momentum in the third, capitalizing on extended rallies and defensive grit to reclaim the lead. The Mounties forced a decisive fifth set with a 25–20 win in the fourth, then edged the Hawks late in a tight race to 15 to secure the match.
Michaela Rice led Hilbert with a strong all-around performance, tallying 14 kills, 3 aces, and 2 blocks.
Meghan Balen added 9 kills and 3 blocks, while
Molly McKinnon chipped in 7 kills and 10 digs. At the net, setter
Jessee Jonathan guided the attack with 22 assists, and
Lindsay Madigan contributed across all phases with 4 aces, 9 assists, and 8 digs.
Defensively, libero
Jade Schiller was outstanding, finishing with a match-high 25 digs as Hilbert out-dug the Mounties 67–57.
Despite the setback, the semifinal berth marks a major milestone for the Hawks in a season defined by growth, resilience, and program-first achievements.
Three new single season records were broken today, with
Jessee Jonathan moving to 68 service aces, and the team leaping into most assists (1201) and total blocks (153).
