Burke Sets All-Time Point Record in Final Game of the Season

ALTOONA, PA — Despite holding two separate leads on the afternoon, Hilbert College Men's Soccer fell 3–2 to Penn State Altoona after a late surge from the Lions at Spring Run Stadium.

Hilbert (4-7-3, 1-5-2 AMCC) opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Carter Burke netted his seventh goal of the season, finishing a setup from Jason Vullo. The goal, Burke's 27th career tally, was his 75th career point, setting a new program record in what was his final game as a Hawk.

The Hawks carried that 1–0 advantage into halftime behind solid defensive play and a pair of key saves from goalkeeper Nikolas D'Andrea.

Penn State Altoona (3-11-0, 1-5-0 AMCC) equalized early in the second half, with Jackson Conner scoring in the 56th minute. Hilbert answered in the 79th minute when Kaleb O'Connor converted his second goal of the season, giving the Hawks a 2–1 edge.

However, the hosts responded with two goals in the final five minutes. Ethan Firth tied the game at 2–2 in the 86th minute, and Felipe Velarde scored the winner less than two minutes later, completing the Lions' comeback.

D'Andrea finished with four saves in goal for the Hawks, while Burke led Hilbert with five shots (three on goal). The Hawks held a 5–4 advantage in corner kicks and matched Altoona in saves (4–3).

The loss concludes Hilbert's season as the Hawks failed to qualify for the AMCC postseason for the first time since 2021.
