HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Hilbert Women's Volleyball traveled to Houghton University for a rematch, non-conference contest tonight after the Hawks hosted the Highlanders just 15 days ago in Hamburg.
The Hawks dropped the first and third set by two points each while struggling to find their finish in the middle set.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hilbert looked in control in the opening set, working through three lead changes while they maintained controlled on the scoreboard through an 18-15 margin. Natalie Ruhlmann secured her only service ace to set a 22-20 score, then the Highlanders stacked four points together for the win.
- The Hawks battled back from a 5-0 deficit to take a 10-8 lead which disappeared after hitting errors opened the door for the Highlanders to pull away for the second set victory.
- Hilbert rallied in the third set, coming from behind to take their first lead (11-10) which they stretched to three points off kills. The Hawks extended their lead to five points (18-13) but allowed the Highlanders to pull within two (22-20) late in the game. Hilbert used two timeouts after that to calm their nerves, yet the hosts, after knotting the game at 24-all scored the final two points of the match.
Jenna Revak recorded her second double-double earning 10 kills and 13 digs in three sets.
Molly McKinnon led at the net with 11 kills, adding nine digs while
Natalie Ruhlmann collected 18 digs and five assists.
Jessee Jonathan and
Mackenzie Mitchell shared second-touch duties as they each finished with 16 assists.
UP NEXT
Hilbert returns to road-tripping when they compete at the Oswego State Invite September 20th and 22nd. The Hawks will face Utica University (5pm) and Oswego State (7pm) Friday night and then challenge two SUNY schools Saturday. Hilbert will battle Canton at 12 noon and Morrisville State at 2pm in the Max Ziel Gym.
