ERIE, PA – Hilbert College Softball returned to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference playoffs this morning for the first time since 2018. In the team's first post season game in six years, the Hawks earned the program's first playoff victory with a 2-0 win over Mount Aloysius.
Freshman pitcher
Kailey Stolowski was dominant in her first career post season game, getting it done at the plate and in the circle. Stolowski pitched all seven innings for the Hawks, shutting out the Mounties while allowing just one hit and striking out seven batters. At the plate, she provided the only two RBIs of the game for Hilbert on a fourth inning sacrifice fly that scored
Alana Yadov, and a sixth inning single that brought
Avery Cusack home.
Hilbert got hits from seven different players in the contest, with
Alana Yadov leading the way with a pair, including the team's lone double.
Samantha Heppel also reached base twice for the Hawks with a second inning walk and a fourth inning single.
