AURORA, N.Y. – Hilbert College Women's Lacrosse made the program's first appearance in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference postseason tournament when they traveled to No. 1 Wells College today.
The No. 4 Hawks were unable to keep the 15-1 Wells Express in check, suffering a 23-0 loss in the semifinal AMCC contest.
Wells played a evenly paced game, scoring five goals in each of the first, third and fourth quarters while outworking Hilbert with eight hits in the second quarter.
Olivia Horn attempted two shots on goal while
Madison Matuszak,
Courtney Geier and
Skyler Holzman added one shot on goal each.
Gabrielle Calandra led with four ground balls,
Gabrielle Avallone won four draw controls and six different Hawks were credited with one caused turnover each.
Katie Kociszewski recorded seven saves in the first half and
Olivia Cleary returned to action making three saves in the final 30 minutes of the season.
Hilbert closed the 2024 season with an 0-11 record.
NOTES:
Skyler Holzman finished her first season at Hilbert ranked #1 in caused turnovers per game (1.67) and set a new single season record in caused turnovers per game.
Katie Kociszewski concluded her first season ranked #1 in save percentage (.430).
