CRESSON, Pa. - Hilbert College Women's Volleyball concluded their 2024 season with a First Round loss to the No. 4 Mount Aloysius Mounties, 25-19, 25-17, 25-22.

The Hawks held a lead late in the third set, but the Mounties stormed back to capture the match victory and advance to the Final Four AMCC championship weekend.

Hilbert finished the season at 5-21 overall with a 3-5 league record while the hosts improved to 14-14 and earned a 5-3 conference record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Mount Aloysius dominated the match in every set, especially in terms of offensive execution.
Hilbert struggled with their attack efficiency, finishing with an attack percentage of just 0.008 for the entire match.Â
- Hilbert went on a five-point run in the opening set to take a 10-8 advantage but Mount Aloysius stacked a trio of points together in five different runs to collect the first set victory.
- The Mounties built a 9-1 margin in the second set, stretched it to 19-12 before finishing with the middle set win.
- The Hawks stayed focused and set a 20-16 lead in the third, yet the hosts stacked three points, which set the 20-19 score before both teams traded points the next four serves. Â Mount Aloysius finished the match earning three of the team's five final points.
The 2024 women's volleyball team earned the program's first trip to the AMCC postseason tournament since the 2013 season. Thank you seniors for your efforts in setting a new standard for the Hawks.
