PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Hilbert football was defeated by St. John Fisher today by a score of 62-7. The hosting Cardinals used a healthy mix of running and passing to take down the Hawks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The hosts got on the board first with a Kyle Farewell field goal just over three minutes in. A Peyton Nolan 13-yard rush extended the Cardinals' lead to 10-0 early on. Another Farewell field goal, and a pair of Aaron Chase TD throws, one to Nate McGoldrick and one to Ethan Curtis, saw the lead extend to 24-0 at the end of the first quarter.
The Cardinals kept it going in the second quarter with Chase tossing another touchdown each to McGoldrick and Curtis. Three more points from Farewell, and the halftime lead was 41-0.
The third quarter saw Hunter Walsh come in at QB for Fisher and throw a pair of touchdown passes. Brayton Johnson and Jason Britton were the beneficiaries of the Walsh passes. Giovanni DiCapr added a score of his own on the ground for the Cardinals. The trio of touchdowns brought the lead up to 62-0 heading into the fourth quarter.
