CRESSON, Pa. – Hilbert Men's Soccer fell to 1-1 in the conference after today's 9-0 loss to Mount Aloysius. Constant offensive pressure was the key for the Mounties in this one, as they fired off 18 shots on net.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Mounties struck twice in a two-minute span to take an early 2-0 advantage in this conference clash. The hosts added a third goal ten minutes later to take a 3-0 lead into halftime. A four-save first half from
Logan Peck helped to keep the Hawks alive in the game heading into the break.
A pair of early Mount Aloysius goals in the second half put the game out of reach at 5-0. The Mounties continued to pour it on, ripping 11 shots in the half, with four more of them finding the back of the net. Goalie Sam Drenchfield kept both Hilbert shots out of the net earning the win and the shutout.
