HAMBURG, N.Y. - It is with profound sadness that we announce the recent passing of Amanda Binder (October 2, 1994 – July 2, 2023) to our Hilbert College Community.

Amanda (Freemont, OH/St. Joseph Catholic High School) was a four-year student-athlete who shined in the classroom and on the volleyball court for the Hawks.

The 5'11 Middle Blocker proudly wore the white and royal uniform and represented our volleyball program with spirit and sportsmanship. She was named the 2013 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Newcomer of the Year and was recognized as a Third Team All-Conference player from 2013 – 2015.   She graduated as the program's all-time leader in kills, kills per set, points, and points per set.

She excelled in the classroom, garnering Academic All-Conference honors all four years while pursuing her Forensic Science / Crime Scene Investigation degree which she earned in May 2017.

Please keep the Binder family in your thoughts and prayers.

Amanda's family has requested that memorials be made to the Humane Society of Sandusky County.
