HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Hilbert College Football program, under the direction of Head Coach Ted Egger, is pleased to announce the recent hiring of
Alejandro Overton and
John Noel.
Both coaches are prepared to teach, develop, and help lead the Hawks Football program into their second year of competition.Â
Alejandro Overton is no stranger to the Western New York community while
John Noel will be getting his first taste of Division III football.
"Coach Overton and Coach Noel both bring tremendous experience and a proven success," said Egger. "They are both going to have a huge impact on our program, and we are excited to have them as part of our staff."
Alejandro Overton, who currently runs WideReceiverCity training, has been involved in local football at both the collegiate and high school levels. Prior to starting his own business, Overton was a wide receivers coach at Buffalo State College and will join forces again with his former Bengals coach, now Hilbert College's Recruiting Assistant
Terry Bitka. Overton had successful strings coaching wide receivers, running backs, and quarterbacks while serving as the offensive coordinator at Canisius High School, Bennett High School, McKinley High School and South Park High School for over ten years. During his time at Canisius, the Crusaders won four Monsignor Martin Athletic Association championships while also wining the inaugural Catholic State Championships game in 2014 and repeating again in 2019. He also helped Bennett win the Section VI Class A 2016 title. Â
John Noel recently served as the defensive coordinator at Erie Community College after two stops working with semi-professional football teams. Noel was the vice president of player personnel and defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach for the River City Raider (St. Charles, MO) Indoor Professional Football league (2015-16) after he served as an assistant coach for the Tennessee Valley Vipers in the Areana Football League (2006-07). The Missouri native got his first taste of coaching at NAIA Cumberland University (TN), where he did a little bit of everything right out of the gate.  He spent another ten years coaching, teaching, and serving as an athletic administrator at Missouri Military Academy, Layman Ward Military Academy (AL) and Westminster Christian Academy (AL) before jumping into the professional leagues.
The Hawks open the 2023 season September 2nd when they host Union College in a 12:00 pm kick-off at St. Francis High School.
