PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Natalie Ruhlmann set a new Hilbert College Women's Volleyball Single Season record in Digs today, but that wasn't enough to lift the Hawks in their final game of the season against Carlow University.
The Erie Community College junior libero established the new record in the third set when she jumped over Jordan Botsford, '13. Ruhlmann finished with 15 digs today and now holds the new single season record of 393 digs while also crushing the digs per set record with 4.47 in only 83 sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hilbert jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the opening rallies of the first set. Carlow responded and knotted the game at 6-6 before both teams traded points until Carlow took a 2-point lead (12-10) to a 20-12 advantage. Hilbert made it a 3-point spread twice late in the set, but ran out of time, dropping the 25-21 score.
- The Hawks took control in the second set and never relinquished their lead to the 25-18 victory. Hilbert earned nine kills, two service aces and a block assist as they evened the score at 1-1.
- Even after Carlow started strong (7-1), the Hawks battled back to a 2-point set (12-14). The Hawks gave away three points off attack errors and quickly found themselves down by seven (18-24) before McLean pulled Hilbert within two fueled by three consecutive service aces in the third set.
- Carlow stacked three-or-more points together five different times as they pulled away in the final set for the 25-15 victory.
Hilbert concludes the 2023 season at 7-17 overall.
