HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert Football fell in their final game of the season this afternoon, dropping their record to 0-8 on the year. The high-scoring game ended 43-27 in favor of the visiting Lyon Fighting Scots.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The first points of the game came on Jaylin Babers first of three rushing touchdowns. The fighting Scots capitalized on sack and forced fumble of Hilbert quarterback,
Noah Workman, deep in Hilbert territory. The run of six yards gave Lyon the 7-0 lead after the extra point.

Roman Gocella interception gave the offense of the Hawks the ball at the Lyon 20-yard line. All they needed was a pair of rushes to punch the ball in. A 12-yard haul by

Raymone Gillie for an eight-yard touchdown to cut the lead to 7-6.
Back-to-back long touchdown drives by the Fighting Scots gave them a 20-6 lead at the half. Quarterback, Kristopher Funck found receiver Xavier Long wide open in the endzone for a 31-yard score to cap off a 72-yard drive. On their next possession, Lyon took the ball 88 yards in 16 plays, where Funck eventually punched in a one-yard score.
The second Hawk touchdown of the afternoon was once again set up by the defense.
Kemychal Clark took the ball all the way down to the Lyon two-yard line after picking off Funck. Reed found the endzone from two yards to add six points to the scoreboard.
Lincoln Eagan's extra point made it a 20-13 game.
Nine points in 20 seconds extended the Lyon lead at the end of the third quarter. A safety, followed by a Funck 34-yard touchdown pass to Karson Douglas extended the lead for the visitors to 29-13.
The defense continued to make plays for the Hawks.
Thomas Pondexter's 30-yard pick six gave Hilbert a much-needed answer to the Lyon points.
However, the Fighting Scots had an answer of their own, as Babers capped off his big day with two more short touchdown runs (2,4).
On their last possession of the game, and season, the Hawks found the endzone. A
Bryce Robinson three-yard touchdown pass from
Brody Hopkins concluded the scoring for the season.
