ERIE, Pa. – The Hilbert College men's volleyball team opened the AMCC-portion of their 2022 schedule at Penn State Behrend tonight. The Hawks suffered straight set defeats to the Lions who are currently riding a seven-game win streak.

HIGHLIGHTS
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Behrend built a 6-2 margin before the Hawks rallied with a 7-3 run forcing a 9-9 score. Both teams traded serves until Hilbert called a timeout, trailing 14-11. The Hawks earned three more kills that set before falling 25-14.
- Hilbert flipped the script and took a 6-4 lead early in the middle set. The Lions responded with a 5-0 run but the Hawks stayed with the hosts, forcing an 11-12 game midway through the set. Behrend slowly pulled away for the 25-14 win.
- Hilbert, after falling behind 4-1 in the third set, sprinted to a 6-4 lead and stretched it to 7-5 before the Lions found their way back into the lead. The Hawks made it a 10-10 game off a kill at the net as they attempted to regain the lead down the stretch. The Lions earned all six of their final points for the 25-18 win.
GAME NOTES
- Hilbert finished match with 21 kills (.103), 30 points, three service aces, six blocks, 21 assists and 22 digs.
- Behrend earned 45 kills (.365), 61 points, nine service aces, seven blocks, 35 assists and 36 digs.

Hilbert continues into AMCC action this weekend when they travel to Hiram, Oh for a tri-match against the Terriers at 3:00 pm before they tangle with St. Vincent College at 5pm in Price Gym.
