HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference released the 2022 Men's Soccer Postseason honors this morning and Hector Harris and Carter Burke were honored with an All-Conference nod.
Pitt-Greensburg's Marc Bucci was named the Coach of the Year and his first-year forward, Caleb Yuricha was tabbed the Newcomer of the Year. Mount Aloysius' Tevin Beadle was picked as the Offensive Player of the Year while Penn State Behrend's Sam York was named the Defensive Player of the Year.
Hector Harris (Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown Regional) and Carter Burke (Rockland, MA/Rockland) were both voted to the Third Team All-Conference as they were instrumental in the Hawks turning the corner this fall. The team's 5-10-2 record broke the string of win-less seasons, their 3-2 victory over Pitt-Bradford gave the program its first AMCC win, and their 2-5 league record advanced the team into a First Round playoff game, the first since the 2015 season.
Harris was ranked in the top 5 in the AMCC in Points, Assists and Goals as he led the Hawks with 25 points, fueled by nine goals and seven assists. The 6-3 forward started 14 of 17 games and led with 40 shots while earning two game-winning goals. Harris tallied his first career hat-trick against La Roche and moved into a third-place tie in Points and Goals and second-place tie in Assists in the Hilbert men's soccer program's single season record book.
Burke chipped in nine goals and was credited with five assists (23 points) with 17 starts his rookie campaign. The 5-8 midfielder finished with one game-winning goal and made 3-of-4 PKs taken this fall. He moved into a third-place tie in Goals, fifth-place tie in Points, and ninth-place tie in Assists in the program's single season record book.
The men's soccer team exploded offensively as they broke into the program's Top 5 All-Time Single Season records in multiple categories under first year Head Coach Jonny Black's leadership.
The 2022 Hawks ranked No. 1 in Goals (39) and Goals/game (2.29), No. 1 PK attempts (6), No. 2 in Points (103), No. 3 in Points/game (6.06), No. 3 Shots on goal (108), No. 3 Shots/game (6.35), No. 5 in Assists (25), No. 5 in Assists/game (1.47), and No. 5 Shots/game (12.06).
