How It Happened
First Quarter: Hilbert's defense started off the game strong holding Wittenberg to a 3 play drive where they only gained 3 yards and had to punt but could not capitalize on this and were forced to punt on their first drive as well. Wittenberg would get the ball at the Hilbert 21 and scored in 1 play to make the game 7-0. Wittenberg later scored on a 10 play drive that took the ball 54 yards making it a 14-0 game going into the second quarter.
Second Quarter: Hilbert's first drive of the second quarter was a 5 play drive that got them 18 yards but would eventually turn the ball over on downs. Wittenberg used their great field position to score a 35 yard touchdown in 3 plays. Later on in the second quarter Hilbert would again go for it on fourth down and not get there giving Wittenberg the ball on Hilbert's 17. Wittenberg scored a 17 yard touchdown the next play. Wittenberg managed to get another touchdown before half making it a 35-0 game.
Third Quarter: In the third quarter Hilbert managed to hold the Wittenberg offense and to only one touchdown. In this quarter they made the Wittenberg offense punt twice. Wittenberg would also manage to get a safety in this quarter.
Fourth Quarter: The fourth quarter came up all Hilbert though. The Hawk's defense got around the offensive line and forced a safety of their own to earn the team 2 points. Later on
Andre Augustiniak would find
Deondre Rice for a 31 yard passing touchdown. The Hawks ended up losing shortly after this by a score of 56-8.
