ALTOONA, Pa. – The Hilbert College Women's Volleyball team opened the AMCC portion of their 2022 schedule and suffered a straight-set defeat to Penn St.-Altoona this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hilbert earned 39 points, 30 kills, six service aces, three blocks, and 38 digs.
- Michaela Rice led the Hawks with nine kills and three service aces and Jenna Revak matched with nine kills while adding a team-best eight digs.
- The score was knotted at 11-11 midway through the first match but the Lions created a four-point lead forcing a Hawks timeout. Altoona stretched the margin to 21-12 but Hilbert battled back to a 19-20 difference before falling 25-20.
- The second set was as competitive as the first, with Hilbert pulling themselves back into a 15-15 score, forcing an Altoona timeout. The Lions strung together seven consecutive points building a 21-15 score and rolled to the 25-18 victory.
- Both teams traded leads early. With the scored tied 6-6, Altoona found themselves up 18-11. The Hawks, trailing 24-13, added three more points to their side of the scoreboard, but lost in a 25-16 match
