Box Score ALTOONA, Pa. – The Hilbert College women's volleyball team concluded their 2021 season with a three-set defeat at the hands of Penn State Altoona this morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 

• Maria Spinelli, Katie Kociszewski and Casandra Thompson earned three of Hilbert's five points off kills early in the set.  The Lions benefited from multiple six-point runs to pull away by the end of the opening set.
• The Hawks trailed 5-4 early in the second set before they earned their first point of the game off a kill by Spinelli, setting the 7-16 margin.  Spinelli earned two more kills by the final 25-12 loss in the middle set.
• Hilbert continued to feed Spinelli,  Kocsizewski and Thompson at the net as they each were credited a pair of kills in the final set.  Kayla Kuzara and Spinelli each earned points off service aces as the Hawks finished with a 25-17 loss.

 

GAME NOTES
 

• Hilbert earned 14 team kills off 80 attempts.  The Hawks earned 42 digs and a pair of blocks at the net.
• Spinelli led with six kills, nine digs and one service ace and Kociszewski added four kills and five digs.
• Kayleigh Chudoba earned another double digit dig performance collecting 12 for the match and Abigail Elisofon was credited with 11 assists in her final match of her career.
