HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College men's soccer team fought hard in a tough defeat against Wells. There was a lot of battling back and forth in the first half, which resulted in a scoreless tie heading into the intermission.
Wells came out strong in the second half scoring a quick goal in the 51st minute off a penalty kick, and added another in the 59th minute to go up 2-0. However, the Hawks held their ground throughout, not allowing a goal the rest of the way.
Freshman
Hector Harris notched his first career goal in the final seconds of the contest to close out the scoring for the day at 2-1.
Junior goalie
Tucker Reynolds had another strong performance in net posting a season-high 16 saves, while going the distance yet again in net. Reynolds made numerous saves down the stretch to keep the game close and give the Hawks an opportunity to make a late-game surge.
The Hawks return to action on Thursday, September 19th as they travel to Greenville, Pa. to take on Thiel College in their final non-conference game prior to the start of AMCC play. Fans will be able to view this game via live video.
