HAMBURG, N.Y. – Franciscan University, pushing the pace in the opening minutes of the men's soccer game, took a 6-0 win during Hilbert's True Blue Alumni weekend celebration.
The Hawks'
Tucker Reynolds earned every one of his 19 saves today as he took a beating in the box.
Franciscan (6-4, 1-1 AMCC) unleased 50 shots, many taken at close range getting the back of the net or from well outside the box sailing wide or above the frame. The Barons scored three quick goals in the game's first 17 minutes of action and added two more before intermission. The visitors then slowed their attack but fired from afar in the second half leading to 11 second-period saves for Reynolds.
Sebastian Flewellyn posted Hilbert's solo shot on goal while he,
Mike Gullo,
Caleb Denton and
Brandon Bundschuh (2) were credited with shots during the contest.
The men's soccer team (0-7, 0-2 AMCC) returns to action Wednesday, October 3 when they travel to Pitt-Bradford for an AMCC double header. The Hawks are set to kick at 4:15pm.
