HAMBURG, N.Y. – After gutting-out a tough road loss yesterday, the Hilbert College men's soccer team took the field ready to compete this afternoon with less than 24 hours s of recovery.
Garrett Rehner lifted the Hawks early and
Travis Hicks matched the score at 3-3, but after intermission, the Wildcats turned-up their heat and pushed through to a 6-3 victory over Hilbert.
"Our coaching staff was proud of our guys response and recovery in back-to-back games," said coach
Mike Ertel. "We showed our quality in the attacking third by creating several chances that resulted in three goals. But we came off bus legs, arriving on campus after 1 am, plus the back-to-back 80 degree playing conditions, our guys just ran out of gas in the second period."
