MARCY, N.Y. – The Hilbert College men's lacrosse team sprinted right out of the first face-off and more than tripled SUNY Poly's point production as the Hawks took a 17-5 NEAC road win.
Tyler Nicoloff increased his season average with 8 points leading the Hawks with four goals.  The junior midfielder was ranked #1 in Division III with 6.67 ppg and was #2 with 4 assists per game through Sunday, April 3.  Nicoloff leads the NEAC with 48 points and has already passed last year's team leader who collected 44 points in 13 games. 
Garrett Knoll, 
Nathaniel Hyman and 
Austin Laine each added three scores for the Hawks who outshot the Wildcats 45-26.
Grant Stockman was tough as nails on defense as he was credited with six caused turnovers and six ground balls.  
Matthew Simon, besides scoring a pair of goals (2 assists) also caused four turnovers while leading the Hawks with nine shots.
The Hawks won 19 of 27 face-offs led by 
Justin DeLaRosa's 12-of-17 performance.  The sophomore midfielder collected game-high honors with nine ground balls.
Hilbert exploded early and took a 7-1 lead after the first quarter.  The Hawks stretched their lead to seven when they tacked on a pair of goals in the second quarter.

Matthew Simon scored one and assisted on a second in the game's first 30 minutes.
Nicoloff scored twice (1 assist) in the third session and Justin DeLaRosa earned his second-career assist on Nicoloff's 20th goal of the season in the third.
Knoll, 
Joshua Schindler and 
Edward Mathias added the final markers in the game.
Adam Zawadzki carried the Hawks with seven saves in 45-minutes.
