PITTSBURGH, Pa. – In exciting fashion, Hilbert College played even with La Roche College for 45 minutes of action before the Redhawks took over in the second half and claimed a 4-1 win at home.

The hosts improved to 5-7-1 and 2-2-1 in the AMCC standings (5th place) while Hilbert suffered their fifth conference loss and 11th overall.

Travis Hicks scored his fourth goal of the season when he knotted the game at 1-all at 3:59.  La Roche beat Ryan Valentine at 2:30 and built a 1-0 score before Hicks forced the game's tie which held through intermission.

La Roche knocked in three 2nd-half goals to claim the victory while outshooting Hilbert 41-6 on the day. 

Valentine finished with 13 saves in the full 90-minute contest.

Brandon Bundschuh, Ryan Schupp and Hicks each attempted two shots with Hicks garnering two shots on goal.

The Hawks will travel for a night game in Erie, Pa. next week.  Penn  State Behrend, undefeated in league play (4-0), will host the Hawks at 5:00 pm October 10.
