ALFRED, N.Y. – The Hilbert College softball team picked up a pair of non-conference victories against Alfred State April 29.
The Hawks (8-25) benefited from 12 Pioneer errors over the course of two games for their 6-0 and 12-3 road wins.
In the night cap,
Amanda Hucksoll and
Hannah Prenoveau each finished with a pair of hits and
Morgan McNeill and
Anndrea Quiroga knocked in a pair of RBI's to push the Hawks to victory.
Victoria Dzaak picked up the win in relief for
Jaelyn Gotham. Dzaak finished the final three innings with a pair of strike outs and one run off three hits.
Quiroga and
Brittany Cooley connected for triples and Husksoll found a double as
Alexandria Wankel, McNeill, Quiroga and Cooley all were credited with a stolen base.
Earlier in the day,
Rachel Allen earned her 5th win of the season in a complete game. She faced 32 batters and struck seven out, walked three and gave up one earned run.
Wankel , Grosch and Quiroga added two hits to their stats with McNeill and Cooley striking for a two-bagger hit.
The Hawks continue the road trip and battle in their final AMCC set-of-games April 30 at Pitt.-Greensburg.
