HAMBURG, N.Y. –Hilbert College fell in defeat, 19-5, to Keuka College in men's lacrosse this afternoon.
Keuka improved to 6-1 in the NEAC and secured their #2 seed heading into the post season as the Hawks slipped to 3-5 in the league and 5-8 overall.
Prior to the start of the contest, the lacrosse program honored their six seniors.
Brenden Deady was credited with 14 saves and closed his Hilbert career as the Hawks All Time leader in wins (20), saves and save percentage.
Andrew Tirabassi finished his two-year career with a team-leading two goals today.
Bryan Binaxas attempted two shots and finished with two ground balls, one turnover and one caused turnover as
Aaron Valino collected six ground balls and caused two turnovers while losing one possession himself.
David DeCocq tallied a goal and scooped two ground balls along with two turnovers and, making his first career start,
Jacob Zook finished his final game with a turnover in the contest.
Hilbert found themselves down 11-3 at intermission and were outscored 8-2 in the second half.
Keuka won 17 of the 28 face-offs, but weren't dominating in many other statistics. The obvious difference was in shots (47-36) and shots on goal (33-20). The Wolves goalie finished with 15 saves.
Nathaniel Hyman led with seven ground balls and four caused turnovers and was joined by
Austin Good with four caused turnovers as well.
Matthew Simon and
Patrick Crangle each added one goal to complement Tirabassi and DeCocq's markers during the game.
