BRADFORD, Pa. – The Hilbert College women's volleyball team put up a fight tonight in their game at undefeated Pitt-Bradford. 

The Hawks (1-5) did not quit after their first set loss as they forced a four-game match at the hands of the 7-0 AMCC league leaders.

Ashley Repine earned double digit kills, leading the Hawks with 10, committing four hitting errors (.207).  She added a pair of block assists as well as one solo block on defense while chipping in two service aces.

Morgan Ott assisted 25 of the Hawks 29 kills while Victoria Siracuse and Anissa Quiroga earned 19 and 10 digs respectively.  

Nickee Thibault helped the Hawks with three service aces and six digs.

Bradford's Kirsten Platz led the Panthers with 13 kills and four solo blocks.

Bradford (20-5 overall) took the opening set 25-16.  Hilbert rebounded and outlasted the Panthers to take set two (26-24).  The hosts returned the favor in the third set, winning 25-15 before they took the final set 25-20.

It was a back and forth point rally for most of the 4th set until Bradford stretched their lead late.  The Hawks were down 22-17 and cut the score to 24-20 before Bradford earned the match point on a long kill to the opposite corner which Hilbert thought was out.  

The Hawks (5-17 overall) hit the road again this Thursday when they travel to Houghton College.  Fans can stay connected via live stream and live stats.

Hilbert returns to the Hafner Rec Center this Saturday when they host AMCC rival Mt. Aloysius at 1pm October 22.
