BRADFORD, Pa. – Jenna Castricone posted her first Hilbert home run for the Hawks softball team today, but Bradford knocked a total of six long balls over the fence to claim two AMCC victories.
Bradford homered to the left field in the bottom of the second inning and added two more run in the fourth before
Rachel Collier's 2RBI double pushed in
Crystal Hailey and
TylerLynn Langer home for Hilbert's two runs in the fifth.
Bradford closed the game with four additional home runs which combined for the final nine runs in the 12-2 victory.
Hilbert connected for six hits.
TylerLynn Langer went 2 for 3 while
Erin Smith and
Lindsay O'Neil went 1 for 2.
Jaelyn Gotham tossed the five-inning, 11 hit, one strike out, one walk game.
Hilbert bunted their way to their first score in the night cap.
Rebecca Bailey moved to second after a bunt and throwing error by the third basewoman. She continued her trek to third off the
Crystal Hailey sac bunt and home off
TylerLynn Langer's sac fly to left field.
Bradford's first batter in the bottom half of first inning took first after being hit by pitch then stole second base. The very next batter homered to left field for the 2-1 lead which stretched to 4-1 by the top of fourth.
Jenna Castricone sent the first ball over the fence for the Hawks to cut the score to 4-2. The Panthers posted six more runs over the next few innings to take the 10-2 win in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Erin Smith went 2 for 2 while Catricone and
TylerLynn Langer earned the RBI's.
Victoria Dzaak struck out one while giving up 10 hits in the 4.1 innings pitched. Langer closed the session tossing a base on balls and one hit.
The Hawks softball program will honor their two seniors,
Rachel Collier and
Elissa Hall, prior to the 12 noon AMCC double header against Pitt-Greensburg April 18. Hilbert is hosting the out of tow visitors at D'Youville College.
