FREDONIA, N.Y.- The Hilbert College women's volleyball team closed out the Blue Devil Invite today with double losses but
Amanda Binder was selected to the All-Tournament team at the conclusion of the weekend event.
Fredonia took three quick sets (25-14, 25-8, 25-11) in the 10 am match as the Hawks struggled at the net finishing with nine kills and 24 hitting errors. Fredonia meanwhile closed with 30 kills (.247).Â
Amanda Binder produced four kills and 15 digs and
Chelsea Adamski added 10 digs in the morning game.
The Ithaca Bombers won 25-10, 25-13, 25-15 to go undefeated in the tourney. Hilbert had a more productive afternoon game posting 17 kills (.025). The Bombers knocked down 32 kills (.288) to improve to 18-1 on the year. Binder almost reached double-figures in kills closing the match with nine while adding nine digs.Â
Ashley Viengmay did reach double digits in digs as she got to 10 in three sets.Â
Morgan Ott was credited with 14 assists.Â
Binder joined Kristen Stanek (Fredonia), Robyn Carroll and Morgan Billus (Canton) as well as Kyle Dandrea and Joelle Goldstein from Ithaca on the All-Tournament team. Kayla Groman from Ithaca was selected the Most Valuable Player.
Hilbert (0-16) returns to AMCC play this Tuesday when they host Pitt.-Bradford in a 7pm serve. The game will be live streamed for fans who can't attend in person.
