Hawks Volleyball Drops Two at Buffalo State

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Hilbert College women's volleyball team traveled to their final non-conference tri-match of the season and fell to Buffalo State and St. John Fisher today to hold a 2-22 overall record.

Buffalo State grabbed 25-15, 25-11 and 25-10 set wins in just over 60-minutes. The Hawks were led by Olivia Tom's 14 digs and Morgan Ott assisted on 17 kills. Jordan Botsford led at the net with 9 kills and six digs.

Buffalo State finished the match hitting .250 while the Hawks connected at a .100 pace.

Hilbert suffered a 3-1 loss to St. John Fisher College to end the day. The Hawks took the first set over St. John Fisher, 25-23, before the Cardinals swept the royal and white (25-21, 25-16, 25-17).

Jordan Botsford and Amanda Binder were the only offensive threat as both reached for double digit kills. Binder scored 17 kills and added 13 digs while Botsford reversed the numbers and ended with 17 digs and 11 kills. Kayla Lewis led all Hawks with 18 digs while Olivia Tom was busy in the back line picking up 16 digs. Morgan Ott assisted on 31 of the team's 35 kills while tossing in nine digs as well. Chelsea Adamski was the fifth player to tally double-digit 12 digs.

Fisher finished the match with 51 kills,10 service aces and 7 solo blocks as they improved to 9-15 overall.

Hilbert (2-23) returns to action Monday, October 20th when they host a non-conference match against another SUNYAC program - The College of Brockport at 7pm.
