HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Pitt-Bradford women's soccer team added another win to their Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference record after they played Hilbert to a 7-0 victory October 15.
The Hawks, dismantled with injuries this season, played to a 3-0 half time deficit before they surrendered four unanswered second half goals. Bradford (8-4-1; 4-1)) controlled the pace of the game and outshot Hilbert (43-6) and attempted more corner kicks (8-1) through the ninety-minute game.
Hilbert's
Jackie Morgan (3),
Courtney Vaccaro (2) and
Sarah Schmidt (1) were credited with Hilbert's shots while Bradford's Maggie Boehler and Melissa Smith each finished with (9) shots to lead a nine-man firing squad.
Bradford's Smith reached for three scores today, and now leads the AMCC with goals scored (15 on the season).
Erin Smith was very active in the box making 22 saves.
The women's soccer team (3-8, 1-4) will celebrate their four seniors (
Amber Bailey,
Robbi Bailey,
Mary Mabon and
Sarah Schmidt,) this upcoming weekend, October 19, when they host Penn State Altoona at 3pm.
