Matthew Whelan (Buffalo, NY/Bishop Timon-Saint Jude|SUNY Niagara) led the Hawks' Golfers at the Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic, a 2-day, 20-team tournament hosted by Penn State Altoona and Mount Aloysius College.

Whelan posted one birdie on Day 1 where he fired an 86 through 18-holes at the Sinking Valley Country Club.

He then shot three birdies on Day 2, lowering his score to 80 while working the Summit Country Club course, a traditionally hilly and windy challenge.
