Anthony Wurstner helped lead the baseball team to their 2-9 start during their spring break training sessions in Fort Pierce, Florida. The rookie from West Seneca (Bishop Timon-Saint Jude) started in nine of the ten games he played scoring nine runs and was perfect with six stolen bases. His .355 average, 11 hits and two doubles were second-best on the team but he floated to the top in triples (2), RBI (5) and slugging (.548). His big game was against Arcadia in Hilbert’s opening game down south. He went 3 for 3, scored twice and was credited with two stolen bases. He tripled against Richard Stockton in the 5th inning pushing the Hawks final run across the plate in the loss.
