Freshman Mackenzie Catan earned her first Hawk of the Week honor January 10.
The freshman guard from Oneonta, NY (Oneonta) lifted the Hawks to a 1-1 week while establishing career highs in both games. Catan averaged 12.5 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals while collecting 25 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals in the first week of games in the second semester.
The 5-7 point guard played 38 minutes against Case Western Reserve University, pulled five rebounds off the glass and was credited with a pair of steals January 3. She closed the week knocking in six 3-pointers (54.5%) to set a career-high record of 18 points in the Hawks AMCC victory over Medaille January 5. She added three more rebounds, two assists and two steals in the home-court win.
