Emily Gawlak collected her third Hawk of the Week honor January 13 as she continues to fuel the Hilbert women’s basketball engine this season.
The 5-6 guard led the Hawks to two AMCC wins last week, scoring 42 points, pulling down 10 rebounds, credited with six assists, and seven steals in Hilbert’s 83-74 win at home over Penn State Altoona and road victory at Mt. Aloysius.
Gawlak averaged 21 points, five rebounds, three assists and 3.5 steals per game as the Hawks improved to 7-1 in AMCC standings. She finished the week hitting 53.6-percent from the floor (15-of-28) and 100-percent at the foul line (9-of-9).
The Mt. Mercy graduate tossed in 23 points, sank 10-of-15 shots from the floor (2-of-4 3-pt) against Mt. Aloysius, and she was one rebound shy of a double-double, scoring 19 points, securing nine rebounds, while dishing six assists and grabbing five steals against Altoona.
Gawlak, in AMCC games only, leads the league in scoring (18.9 ppg), is third in minutes per game and fifth in steals per game.
