Taylor Corts helped the women’s basketball team string together back-to-back wins for the first time this season to capture another Hawk of the Week honor.
The 5-10 guard collected 46 points, 13 rebounds, and finished with five assists in the 72-49 AMCC win at Pitt-Bradford before they captured a 72-64 victory at Elmira November 30.
Corts averaged 23 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. She closed the week hitting .385 percent from the field and .929 percent (13-14) from the foul line.
The Ontario, NY (Wayne) native needed 17 points at the start of the week to reach 1,000 in her career and she produced 18 points by the 3rd quarter against Bradford in the lopsided conference win.
She exploded with a season-high 28 points, hitting 9-of-21 shots from the field (with a pair of shots from downtown) and was a perfect 8-for-8 at the charity stripe in the road win at Elmira. Corts also added seven rebounds and three assists.
She currently leads the AMCC in scoring average (19.6) and free throw percentage (90.6) while logging in at #11 in rebounding.
