Hunter Martineau earned another Hawk of the Week honor leading the men’s basketball team to a pair of victories last week.
The 5-10 point guard totaled 46 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and dished 16 assists in Hilbert’s 81-78 AMCC win at Pitt-Bradford November 26 and their come-from behind, 85-77 overtime win at Elmira November 30.
Martineau averaged 23 points, 7.5 rebounds and eight assists per game with an incredible +8.0 assist to turnover ratio. He found his shooting touch, hitting 13-of-18 from the field (.722) and 19-of-21 at the foul line (.905)
The Orlando, Fla (Timber Creek) put the Hawks on his back and carried them in their overtime win at Elmira when he tossed in a career-high 32 points (10-12 FG, 12-13 FT), finished with 11 assists without a turnover in the 45 minute game. His nine rebounds fell one short of posting his second triple double in a one-week span.
Martineau also scored 14 points, was credited with five assists and six rebounds at Bradford before the Thanksgiving break.
He continues to lead the AMCC in assists/game (8), sits in 9th in scoring and 12th in rebounding.
