Griffith DeMayo strung together another outstanding series of performances last week and earned his second Hawk of the Week honor this season.
The Hamburg High School product reached base 10 of his 14 plate appearances establishing a .668 on base percentage and went 5-for-9 with a double, triple and home run to finish the week with a .556 batting average. DeMayo picked up five RBI, scored five runs and stole two bases while posting a perfect field percentage in 24 total chances at both 1B and right field spanning four conference games.
DeMayo helped lift the Hawks to a Buffalo Cup/AMCC series victory over Medaille going 2-for-3, scored three runs and earned one RBI. Two days later, in a pair of one-run losses to Pitt-Greensburg, DeMayo went 3-for-6, pushed in four runs, scored two and hit his first Home Run for the Hawks.
He currently leads the 5-23 Hawks in batting average, hits, runs, doubles, home runs, RBIs and slugging percent.
