Junior Hunter Martineau continues shine for the men’s basketball team as he picked up his second Hawk of the Week honor today.
The Orlando native totaled 36 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and five steals as the Hawks went 0-2 in the opening week of Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action.
He averaged 18 points, 4.5 rebounds, four assists and 2.5 steals in Hilbert’s 97-88 loss at D’Youville and their 70-65 defeat at Pitt-Greensburg. The 5-10 point guard shot 48% from the field and 80% at the foul line.
Martineau was the Hilbert’s leading scorer in both games as he poured in 21 against the Spartans, hitting 9-of-11 at the charity stripe. He closed the week with a 15 point, 5 rebound and three steal effort against the Bobcats.
He leads the league in steal (15) and assists (40) but since the league’s teams have not all played the same number of games Martineau is ranked #2 in assists per game (5.7) and steals per game (2.1).
