Maia Delaney's effort at the plate and defensive coverage in the outfield helped her to earn her first Hawk of the Week honor today.
Delaney hit .500, collected a pair of doubles and one triple along with 2 RBIs and 8 runs scored as Hilbert went 4-1 on the week.
The freshman outfielder also helped the Hawks tie the program’s All Time Win record (12) as they swept Pitt-Greensburg for the first time since 2005 (12-11, 3-2), split their series with Franciscan (6-10, 7-3) and opened the week with a 3-2 Buffalo Cup win over D’Youville.
The Oswego native went 3-for-4 (1.250 slg) with 1RBI and scored a pair of runs in the only loss of the week. She matched that performance at the plate in the 3-2 win against Greensburg (.750 with 2 runs scored).
With four AMCC double headers still left to play, Delaney leads the Hawks with a .333 average, 16 runs scored, 24 hits, 3 triples, is second on the team in doubles (4) and third in RBI (11).
