Tristan Aldinger hit his way to his first Hawk of the Week honor over the weekend.
The junior from Attica High School most likely became the first Hilbert baseball player to send a ball over the fence in each game of the double header against an AMCC opponent. Aldinger helped the Hawks split their league-opener games with Penn State Altoona after going 4-for-7 with two home runs, 4 RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base while making an appearance on the mound. Hilbert won the opening game, 11-8 then suffered a 19-6 defeat in the nightcap.
Aldinger knocked in two runs with his 5th inning homer to left center after he earned his first RBI single in the 2nd as the DH in the 1pm victory. As the day progressed, Aldinger moved to the lead-off batter and poked his second home run of the day in the fourth inning scoring the Hawks final run. He finished the game on the mound and gave up two hits, one earned run, with two walks and three strike outs in the loss.
