Taylor Corts established a personal single-game scoring record as she grabbed her first Hawk of the Week honor this season.
The 5-10 sophomore guard totaled 44 points, six rebounds, one assist and two steals in Hilbert’s 71-47 non-conference win at home against Alfred State and their 73-60 AMCC contest at Franciscan. Corts averaged 22 points and three rebounds in a 2-0 week for the women’s basketball team.
The Wayne Central product tossed in 31 points, hitting 10-of-13 shots from the floor in the Hawks’ 13th AMCC victory of the season. She made seven of her nine 3-point attempts and went 4-for-5 from the charity stripe.
The women’s basketball team continues to sit at #1 in the league rankings, and, after the road win against the Barons, earned a bye in the Frist Round games of play-offs and secured a spot directly into the AMCC Championship Week as either the #1 or #2 seeded team.
