Katelyn Proy provided important minutes for the women’s basketball team who went 2-0 last week and earned her second Hawk of the Week honor this season.
The 6-2 forward scored 16 points, grabbed 20 rebounds, was credited with six assists and nine blocks for the Hawks who picked up a 32-point, Buffalo Cup victory and series sweep against Medaille midweek before the women’s basketball team posted their first AMCC victory in 13 seasons against La Roche College (74-54).
Proy averaged eight points, 10 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game for the 12-1 AMCC league-leaders. She shot 43.8% from the floor and averaged five offensive rebounds per game.
The Kenmore native’s most impressive game was against Medaille where she pulled down 13 rebounds (eight offensive) and finished with four blocks and eight points.
Then, against the team who has dominated the AMCC for the last seven seasons, Proy was active in the paint. She notched five more blocks while grabbing seven rebounds, scoring eight points and sharing four assists against La Roche.
