Emily Gawlak’s all-around effort on the hardwood last week resulted in her first Hawk of the Week honor this season in women’s basketball.

The South Buffalo native posted season-high numbers when the Hawks defeated Alfred University November 25.  The 80-41 final score was the women’s basketball program’s largest margin of victory since the Hawks joined the AMCC league in 2004-05.

Gawlak scored 19 points, added seven rebounds, and matching four steals and assists in 30 minutes of action.  The 5-7 guard made 6-of-9 shots from the floor and knocked down 3-of-4 beyond the arc which fueled Hilbert’s lopsided victory.

In her two-year athletic career at Hilbert, Gawlak has now amassed three basketball and a pair of lacrosse Hawks of the Week honors.
